The workplace of the future will be greatly changed by the coronavirus pandemic. The significance of water and sanitation services has been elevated as necessities to safeguard public health and individual hygiene to help fight the deadly virus.

The National Association of Clean Water Agencies has petitioned Congress to include $12.5 billion for wastewater utilities in a coronavirus relief stimulus package. The funding would offset revenue declines and help utilities continue to provide essential services while many customers cannot pay their bills. Members of the Congressional Black Caucus have introduced legislation to strengthen job skills acquisition that benefit underserved African Americans.
