US Water Alliances Launches Recovering Stronger: Transforming Water Management in America
February 4, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Free2021 will be a year of rebuilding our nation. Today, the US Water Alliance is proud to announce a new initiative dedicated to driving changes that will allow the water sector—and the nation—to recover stronger from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recovering Stronger: Transforming Water Management in America will bring together innovative and committed leaders from across the US Water Alliance member network to seize this moment of deep disruption facing our nation and turn it into a source of lasting transformation in how we view, value, and manage our water systems.
With the generous support of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the nation’s largest philanthropy focused solely on health, the Recovering Stronger initiative will focus on reknitting the local, state, and federal partnership on water management with a commitment to advancing public health, equity, and utility resilience. The initiative will tackle the structural problems that have led to sub-optimal outcomes for decades by making progress on five interlocking solutions:
- Price Water to Reflect its True Value and the Cost of Service
- Provide Affordable, Universal Access to Water
- Catalyze Utility Partnerships and Consolidation
- Deploy Smart Utility Operations at Scale
- Use Water as a Pathway to Address the Climate Crisis
In this digital event you’ll hear from the diverse stakeholders and policymakers working on at the intersection of water and recovery and about the US Water Alliance’s federal policy blueprint for Congress and the Biden Administration. Tune in to learn more about the common ground solutions at the federal level that will contribute to building a stronger, more sustainable future for all.
