National Climate Assessment: Northern Great Plains Overview
January 22, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
NOAA and partners are very pleased to offer three webinars describing the findings from the 4th National Climate Assessment which was recently released. Each presentation will provide an overview of the specific regional chapter and science behind the report. The fourth National Climate Assessment, Volume II: Impacts, Risks, and Adaptation in the United States, assesses the science of climate change and variability and its impacts across the United States, now and throughout this century.
Beginning on January 15th and ending on January 28th we will provide three webinars. Each one will be focused on a separate region in the north central U.S. The first will be by the chapter lead author Dr Jim Angel (Illinois State Climatologist emeritus) for the Midwest, the second will be provided by one of the chapter authors, Dr. Martha Shulski (Nebraska State Climatologist) for the Northern Great Plains (1/22/19) and the third will be given by chapter contributors Dr Jenna Jorns (Great Lakes Integrated Sciences Assessment) and Dr Brent Lofgren (NOAA’s Great Lakes Environmental Research Lab) focused on the Great Lakes (1/28/19). There will be time for questions at the end of each presentation.
