1st Annual Virtual Harmful Algal Bloom Research Symposium
January 6-7, 2021
The Algal Bloom Action Team is a collaboration of water professionals, researchers, and educators from twelve states in the North Central Region of the United States. Team members include the national network of Water Resources Research Institutes (WRRI), the North Central Region Water Network and university Extensions within each state in the North Central Region. To learn more about the team review their recent whitepaper outlining next steps for harmful algal blooms (HABs) outreach and education in the region.
The Algal Bloom Action Team’s first ever research symposium featured emergent harmful algal bloom (HAB) research and provide a venue for moderated discussions regarding HAB research, and outreach, and how information dissemination can be improved.
This symposium will occur on an annual basis so that it may serve as an annual collection of ideas, research, and other products that the Algal Bloom Action Team will disseminate through outreach materials to the public.
